You can listen to Kim Sordyl tell her story about being targeted by state Rep. Margaret Doherty here on The Gator & Denise Show.
Kim Sordyl is a Portland Public Schools mom who has helped other parents become activists for their kids in a failing system. Kim Sordyl is outspoken on social media and is a Democrat who has pushed back on the unions. She has received national recognition for her fight for Oregon students. Democrat state Rep. Margaret Doherty, of Tigard, a decades-long consultant to left-wing special interests who has been bankrolled by the unions, wanted to remove Kim Sordyl from the school board, but likely falsely claimed she didn't know who Kim Sordyl is. The melodrama unfolded and sparked a national outcry, and the bill was eventually quietly killed by Senate Democrats. Kim Sordyl says most Democrats she talks to in Portland are sick of the unions and the control they have over politics, but that it isn't popular to say out loud in Portland.
Kim Sordyl says she doubts the unions are finished seeking vengeance, but says they haven't been strategic.
"If I am removed from the board of education, then I will be unleashed, and I will be far more aggressive," Kim Sordyl said. "I used to get phone calls from Portland Public Schools parents... but now I get them from all over the state. People across the board are experiencing the same trouble from school districts. Oregon has been led by Democrats for thirty years, [fixing our schools] has become a partisan issue but it shouldn't be."
Thank you Gator & Denise for having Kim Sordyl on your show!
