Right to Life PAC endorses Monte Akers
HILLSBORO, Ore.—Oregon Right to Life PAC endorsed Monte Akers in his bid for the state Senate. Akers, a Republican, recently announced his candidacy for Senate District 15, which includes much of Hillsboro, as well as Forest Grove, Cornelius and North Plains.
Akers released the following statement:
“I am a father, grandfather, and husband. I love life and believe it should be protected. I am proud to have received the endorsement of Oregon Right to Life in my bid for the state Senate. The people of District 15 deserve to have their voice in the Legislature heard and I am committed to representing the great people of our community.”
Last year, in a nationally controversial move, Gov. Kate Brown forced every Oregonian to fund late-term and sex-selective abortions. Brown previously had a ‘Day of Action,’ in which she praised the fact Oregon doesn’t ban late-term or sex-selective abortions. And this year, Oregon Progressives passed another controversial bill, the advanced directive bill, that had failed last session. This year they rammed it through the short session with inadequate time for people to speak out against the bill.
